The Arcade Cabinet causes an argument nobody expected — Edition 195

The Arcade Cabinet once solved a very specific everyday problem. Now a new project is giving that old idea a strange second life, with a distinctly GenX attitude.

The new version adds convenience, but designers deliberately kept the parts that made the original inconvenient.

There is no app required, which may be the most radical feature of the entire thing. The project mixes familiar physical details with a few modern concessions, creating an experience that feels deliberate instead of disposable.

The people behind it say the point is simple: keep what worked, ditch what did not, and make the whole thing fun enough that someone actually wants to use it.
