The First Cell Phone Gets a Ridiculous Upgrade
The phone industry spent decades making handsets smaller. Somebody has apparently decided we went too far.
A hardware company has unveiled a modern handset deliberately shaped like the giant mobile phones of the early cellular era.
The body has real buttons, a removable battery and an absurdly large antenna. Inside are modern cameras, USB-C charging and a battery designed to last for days.
The company says the point is to make a phone feel like an object again instead of a glass rectangle. Early buyers are treating the joke as a serious product.
