The project mixes familiar details with a few modern concessions. The result keeps the useful parts, removes the terrible parts and somehow makes the whole thing feel familiar.
Nobody involved seems interested in pretending technology has not changed. The point is to make the experience feel deliberate again, even when the original version was mostly an accident of the era.
